That's correct, though the release will most likely only happen in 
early October.

Sure, you can get the latest pre-release from here:

Take a look at the NEWS file inside for the new features in this release 
(there are other things besides the mapping of XML Schema enumerations 
to C++ enum and validation of enumerations).
