We routinely test xsd-generated code with g++-3.3, g++-3.4, and g++-4.0
series on amd64. I heard Intel upgraded their C++ compiler to support
ET64 (their name for amd64) though we only test with icc on i686.

g++-4.0 seems like a good choice. What exactly is wrong with g++-3.4.4
on Gentoo? Maybe we could work around this bug.
