Glad you figured it out and thanks for posting your findings. When
it comes to Cygwin/MinGW and shared libraries, things seem to stop
or start working with smallest changes (like upgrading GCC) so you
never know what's causing the problem. As a last resort, you can
always switch to using static libraries which are known to work
fairly reliably.
